The State Theatre Cinema Club

For cinephiles who enjoy viewing and discussing the best in classic and contemporary art films, we suggest becoming a member of The State Cinema Club. The organization, started up in Fall 2009, now has more than 150 members who gather for the sole purpose of watching films of cinematic, social and historical significance, followed by intelligent and thought-provoking discussions led by film professors and industry insiders. This club meets the second Tuesday of every month to view films from the Janus "Essential Art House" library and the best of contemporary, independent cinema and foreign films. Among the benefits of membership is the opportunity to see these films on The State's big screen: films that will not be shown at the theater at any other time!

To join the Cinema Club, stop by The State and pick up a membership application. Membership entitles you to discounted admission to all nine of the films in the series, advance notification of films and club events and complimentary popcorn and a soft drink or cup of fresh-brewed Clayton's Italian-roast coffee.

Membership levels range from $40 for single adults and $70 for an adult couple to $30 for single seniors (aged 62 and above), $50 for a senior couple and $20 for students with a valid ID.

Admission for non-members who may also attend Cinema Club screenings and discussions is $7 per film.

Checks and Mastercard or Visa can be used to pay for memberships.
