Maudie

Fri. July 28

(PG-13) 1 Hr. 55 Min. (Digital) In English (Art House & International, Drama, Romance)

Based on a true story, Maudie is an unlikely romance in which the reclusive Everett Lewis (Ethan Hawke) hires a fragile yet determined woman named Maudie (Sally Hawkins) to be his housekeeper. Maudie, bright-eyed but hunched with crippled hands, yearns to be independent, to live away from her protective family and she also yearns, passionately, to create art. Unexpectedly, Everett finds himself falling in love. Maudie charts Everett's efforts to protect himself from being hurt, Maudie's deep and abiding love for this difficult man and her surprising rise to fame as a folk painter.

Lost In Paris

Fri. 8/4 - Fri. 8/11

(NR) 1 Hr. 23 Min. (Digital) In English (Comedy)

When small-town Canadian librarian Fiona's orderly life is disrupted by a letter of distress from her 88-year-old Aunt Martha who is living in Paris, she hops on the first plane she can and arrives only to discover that Martha has disappeared. In an avalanche of spectacular disasters, she encounters Dom, the affable but annoying tramp, who just won't leave her alone. Starring the Brussels-based husband-and-wife comedy duo Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon. Although they have performed for decades, their talents have only been seen in feature-length filmmaking in the last 10 years, showcasing their commitment to a humor otherwise absent from contemporary cinema.
"Abel and Gordon are, simply put, the two funniest clowns working in cinema today."—Variety
A deliriously funny, continuously inventive, slapstick extravaganza that Buster Keaton fans will devour with relish.” ~ Huffington Post

A Ghost Story

Opens Fri. Aug. 4

(R) 1 Hr. 27 Min. (Digital) In English (Drama)

With A Ghost Story, acclaimed director David Lowery (Ain’t Them Saints, Pete’s Dragon) returns with a singular exploration of legacy, loss, and the essential human longing for meaning and connection. Recently deceased, a white-sheeted ghost (Academy Award-winner Casey Affleck) returns to his suburban home to console his bereft wife (Academy Award-nominee Rooney Mara), only to find that in his spectral state he has become unstuck in time, forced to watch passively as the life he knew and the woman he loves slowly slip away. Increasingly unmoored, the ghost embarks on a cosmic journey through memory and history, confronting life's ineffable questions and the enormity of existence. An unforgettable meditation on love and grief, A Ghost Story emerges ecstatic and surreal -- a wholly unique experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
