Cinema Rising, A Film Arts Collective, was formed in January by The State Theatre and a group of young, independent filmmakers. The not-for-profit organization provides a forum for local filmmakers to screen their work, communicate and network with others in their chosen field and to reach out to those in the film and allied industries who can help teach/educate and provide relevant information that will further prepare them for careers and job opportunities. Cinema Rising meets at The State Theatre Wed. December 16 at 7 p.m. All involved in area film arts are invited to attend.
